CAMREN FISCHER & TORI WILLIS NAMED WENDY'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

"AAA Announces its Wendy's Players of the Year
For 2016 Cross Country and Dance

The Arkansas Activities Association released the names of this year's Wendy's Players of the Year awards for cross country and dance.

Tori Willis, a sophomore at Bentonville High School, is the Girls Cross Country Player of the Year. Camren Fischer, a sophomore at Fayetteville High School, is the Boys Cross Country Player of the Year. 

This is the fourth year for the Wendy's Player of the Year Awards. A total of 23 athletes will be selected from the sports of golf, tennis, volleyball, cross country, dance, cheer, football, swimming, wrestling, bowling, basketball, softball, baseball, soccer and track. Each winner will be recognized at the Wendy's Day of Champions luncheon at the Little Rock Holiday Inn Airport on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

Coaches and school administrators are eligible to make nominations for these awards throughout the school year.

Willis was the Class 7A state champion. She won the event with a time of 19:02.5, which was the fastest time recorded in state competition. She was also a member of the 7A-West Conference championship.

Fischer led Fayetteville to a second place finish in the Class 7A State championship. He posted a winning time of 15:40.8, which was the fastest time in state competition this year."
