Weekend in Review March 26th-April 2nd

This week's results were a mixed bag of performances depending on the day of the week the meet was contested. The rain caused trouble for some on Thursday, but the temperature was good for racing then for those schools competing on Friday had to deal with the wind and low forties or high thirties for conditions. Then on Saturday, the conditions turned out to be glorious by the afternoon.

As the mo.milesplit.com webmaster, this was our busiest weekend yet since I took over in mid-September. As I am typing, we had over two dozen meets get added to our database since Friday and more results are streaming throughout the evening. At this point in the year, most teams minus MICDS across the state have contested in at least one meet. Obviously, by next weekend every team that competes under the MSHSAA flag should have results posted on our site. A round up of all the meets can be found here

Now would be a good time to remind you of our upgraded virtual meet option. Trust me I have been making having use of my simulated track and field chess matches.

Wentzville Holt Pow Wow was once again a solid meet. John Jost captured all the magic with his slick photo skills. Future hall of fame coach Tom Gose's Lady Flyers took home the team title with a balanced attack from each event group in his arsenal. The race of the day might have been the girl's 1600 meter run where the top three spots were separated by less than a second with Lindbergh super sophomore Juedemann running a 5:18.46 picking up a scalp on both Griesenauer of Holt and Bensky of Ladue.

East St. Louis as predicted laid down the law on the boy's side win convincingly by over 40 points. Individually, the "who that heck was that!?" moment of the meet came from Hazelwood West freshman 400-meter stud Justin Robinson crossing the one lap race at 50.03 FAT. It seems as if sprint guru Sean Burris is working his magic once again. In the 4x800 Ladue looks to reclaim its mid-distance magic. Running an 8:11 for a mo.milesplit.com number 1 position on the ranking list.

Across the state, the boy's and girls of KC put on a crazy performance at the Rusty Hodge Invite. Leading to over 20 elite performances! Papay Glaywulu is ready to take on all comers as he flirts with the 50-0 mark jumping an absolutely nasty in the triple jump. Taking ownership of the Missouri number 1 spot. Kyle Rogers of Liberty had a great day in the pole vault leaping 16 feet even!

On the girl's side, the Raytown South continued destroying the competition in the relays running 49.54 in the 4x100 and 1:44.95 in the 4x200 respectively. In the open events, Victoria Findley ran another state number 1 time in the 3200-meter run dipping under the 11-minute mark in 10:52.35.
