AMH Speedster Schwartz Puts Out 2018 T&F Goals: Aiming For Sub 10s 100m & More

American Heritage senior Anthony Schwartz is putting the world on notice. Schwartz, the world youth record holder in the 100m dash with his 10.15 from the Florida Relays, announced on Twitter his goals for the upcoming season.

One of those is a sub-10 performance in the 100m.

Schwartz's 10.15 made him the sixth-fastest performer all-time -- and the fastest prep in March ever. He bounced back from a disappointing injury at the state meet to finish second at the adidas Dream 100 before an excellent showing at New Balance Nationals. The speedster was first in the 100m dash and runner-up behind Tyrese Cooper in the 200m.

At USA Juniors, he was fourth to earn a spot on the Team USA 4x100m relay team at the Pam American Junior Championships. Running his first lead off leg since the 7th grade, Schwartz helped the red, white, and blue quartet to a gold-medal-winning performance.

The two-sport standout, who has yet to make a college decision, recently finished his high school career on the gridiron. Schwartz had a monster day for the Patriots, scoring two touchdowns: one on the ground and one receiving, totaling 110 yards. The team won the their fourth 5A state championship in five years.

Schwartz passed up an invitation to attend the IAAF Gala in Monaco to compete in the playoffs with his team. He told us that being with those guys for what could be the last time meant more to him.

It remains to be seen if he will compete in both sports at the next level, and which college or university will land the world-class speedster. One thing is for sure: no matter where he ends up, we can't wait to see him burn up the track in 2018!
