PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions Basketball team fell to 1-3 in conference play after suffering a 60-53 defeat to the Southern Jaguars on Saturday.
Tashayla Jackson led all Lady Lions scorers with 15 in 28 minutes of play. Laquisha Slaton was the only other Lady Lions players to reach double figures as she tallied 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assist.
“We have to play with more intensity and focus on both ends of the floor,” said UAPB head coach Cary Shelton. “Defensively we played well in spurts but we weren't able to sustain that level of play throughout the entire game.”
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will wrap up a two-game home stand on Monday versus the Alcorn State Lady Braves at 5:30 pm at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
