PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Men's Basketball Team dropped their first home contests of the season losing to the Jackson State Tigers 72-67 at H.O. Clemmons Arena on Monday night.
JSU was able to control the tempo and momentum of the game as they outshot UAPB 47 percent to 38 percent. The Tigers also took advantage of their opportunities at the free throw line converting 31-of-40 attempts.
Gavin Montgomery paced the Golden Lions scoring attack tallying 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Terrance Calvin added 15 while Tavaris Washington netted 12 points and 4 rebounds.
The loss moves Arkansas-Pine Bluff to 6-3 in conference play. The Golden Lions will return to the hardwood on Saturday as they will get set to face the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
