PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions softball team won their first series of the season defeating the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers in dominating fashion over the course of the weekend.
Misti Cosby played superb throughout the series tallying big hits and scoring several key runs for UAPB.
Cosby went 6-for-9 (.667) with six RBI's, a double, and three homers while scoring five runs as the Lady Lions swept the three-game series versus PVAMU.
In her best game against the Lady Panthers, Cosby went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, three RBI's and two home runs.
“Misti played great during the entire series,” said Lady Lions head coach Kayla Curbow. “She provided our team with an offensive spark in all three games.”
Heather Leigh and Cece Kolesar pitched well against Prairie View A&M as they had success against the Lady Panthers hitting rotation only allowing a total 7 runs during the series.
The Lady Lions will face Alabama A&M at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 31st in Huntsville, Ala.
