HU Women's Track and Field Moves into Top 25

SEARCY – After an outstanding weekend at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet in Allendale, Mich., the Harding women's indoor track and field team has moved into the USTFCCCA Division II Top 25.

Points are awarded in the rankings based on individual and team rankings in each indoor event. Harding has 22.47 points in the poll. Freshman Ewa Zaborowska is ranked fourth in Division II in the 800 meters, earning 15.83 points. Harding also earned points from Cathy Ebenja (10th in 60 meters, 5.99 points), Portia Bell (21st in 200 meters, 0.49 points), and Tiffany Chambers (26th in pole vault, 0.15 points).

Ebenja broke her own school record in the 60 meters at the Big Meet, finishing in 7.61 seconds. Zaborowska placed fourth in the 800 meters in Michigan, setting a personal best in 2:11.08.

The South Central Region rankings also came out Tuesday. Harding's men are ranked 12th in the region. Senior Ryan Johnson ranks fifth regionally in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.93 at the Big Meet. Harding's 4x400-meter relay team and its distance medley relay team are both ranked third in the region.

Harding's women are 11th in the South Central Region. Ebenja (60 meters), Zaborowska (800 meters), and the distance medley relay team all rank second in the region. Chambers is third in the pole vault, and freshman Dallis Bailey is seventh in the 800 meters.
