HOUSTON - Harding alum Janet Cherobon-Bawcom placed fifth at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials on Saturday. Cherobon-Bawcom finished the 26.2-mile course in 2 hours, 29 minutes, a person best. The top three finishers in the race qualified for the 2012 London Olympics.

Cherobon-Bawcom will be inducted into the Harding Athletics Hall of Fame in Searcy on Jan. 27.
