CONWAY, Ark. – Harding junior Tiffany Chambers broke the school record in the outdoor pole vault for the eighth time in her career, and freshman Ewa Zaborowska ran the fifth-best 800-meter time in NCAA Division II this season Saturday at the UCA Open.

Chambers, a native of Rogers, Ark., cleared 12 feet for the first time in her career and finished second in the event. With the new school record, Chambers will likely receive an invitation to the NCAA national meet May 25-27 in Pueblo, Colo.

Chambers will not be the only Lady Bison at the national meet. Zaborowska placed second of 12 runners in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 2:10.63. The time was less than a second off Hanna Ritakallio's school record and is the fifth-best in Division II this season.

Harding had two event victories at the meet. Sophomore Kristen Celsor won the high jump for the second time this season with a jump of 5 feet, 5 inches. It was her fourth career event victory. Senior Cathy Ebenja won the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, 8.25 inches.

A pair of Lady Bisons ran the best time of the season in two distance events. Sophomore Rachel Roberts ran the 5,000 meters in 18:31.23, topping Harding's previous best 5,000-meter time this season of 19:27.83 by Roberts at the Rhodes meet. Freshman Amber Priest ran Harding's fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time, finishing in 12:30.10.

Roberts also ran a personal-best time of 4:57.17 in the 1,500 meters.

Harding runs again next Saturday at the Red Wolf Open in Jonesboro, Ark.
