SEARCY – Harding senior Wojciech Kopec was named All-South Central Region on Tuesday by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Kopec received the honor by virtue of having the third-best 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the South Central Region during the 2012 outdoor track season.

Kopec, a native of Olsztyn, Poland, ran a season-best 9 minutes, 12.46 second on May 11 at the Georgia Tech Invitational. He was All-Region last season in the outdoor 10,000 meters and the steeplechase.

Kopec finished the season ranked 26th in Division II in the steeplechase.
