Harding Track's Logan Callier Named Academic All-America

Logan Callier cleared 6 feet, 6 inches outdoor and graduated in May.
SEARCY – Harding University senior high jumper Logan Callier was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Men's Track/Cross Country 2nd Team on Wednesday. He is Harding's first Academic All-America recipient from the men's track and field team since Tyler Kemmerer earned 3rd Team honors in 2004.

A native of Rockwall, Texas, Callier was Harding's top high jumper during the 2011-12 season. Indoors, Callier cleared 6 feet, 4 inches, and was even better outdoors with a personal-best height of 6-6. During his career, Callier increased his personal-best height by almost seven inches.

Callier, a member of Harding's Honors College, was an interdisciplinary studies major, who graduated on May 5 with a 3.93 grade point average.

The Capital One Academic All-America teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America committee.

Callier is the second Harding student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors for the 2011-12 school year. Gina Cielo of the Harding women's tennis team earned 1st Team honors.

Callier's honor was the 34th Academic All-America honor received by Harding athletes since Ed Vanderkaarj first earned the honor in 1985. Members of Harding's men's track and field team have been named Academic All-America 14 times.
