Lady Tigers Run 2012 NCAA Leading 3:31.55 to Win 4x400 Relay at Feb 13, 2012

The Lady Tigers wrapped up the 2012 Tyson Invitational by running the NCAA's fastest time in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:31.55 to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the first time during the 2012 indoor season. Senior Rebecca Alexander (53.50), senior Cassandra Tate (52.21), junior Siedda Herbert (53.42) and senior Jonique Day (52.43) finished more than 1 second ahead of teams from Texas (3:32.63) and Arkansas (3:32.75) for the relay title.

The Tigers were also impressive in the 4x400-meter relay during the finale at the 2012 Tyson Invitational as they clocked a new seasonal best of 3:05.41 for the #2-ranked time in the NCAA for the 2012 indoor season. The team of senior Robert Simmons (47.07), senior Riker Hylton (45.51), senior Ade Alleyne-Forte (46.86) and junior Caleb Williams (45.98) finished 3rd in the race behind Arkansas (3:03.76) and South Plains (3:05.16).

LSU's Kimberlyn Duncan PRs at 7.26 in 60 Meters at 2012 Tyson In Feb 13, 2012

Lady Tiger junior Kimberlyn Duncan set a personal record of 7.26 seconds to take 2nd place in the women's championship final of the 60-meter dash at the 2012 Tyson Invitational to finish behind only Central Florida freshman Octavious Freeman (7.20). That performance moved Duncan into the #5 spot on the NCAA list for the 2012 season. Junior Takeia Pinckney also took 4th place in the event final with her time of 7.37.

After clocking the fastest preliminaries time, freshman Octavious Freeman topped her personal best, automatic qualifying time in the semifinals by recording 7.19 to tie the school and freshman record.
