NATCHITOCHES, La.- For much of Sunday's of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff's basketball game versus Northwestern State it looked as if the Lady Lions were on their way to pulling off another upset on the road.
But in the end an untimely foul call and several critical missed shots sealed UAPB's fate as the Lady Lions dropped a heartbreaker to Northwestern State in non-conference action 78-76.
NSU won the game in the closing seconds capitalizing off of two successful free throw attempts which gave them a slim two point advantage.
After Northwestern State converted those two attempts Arkansas-Pine Bluff received the ball back with just 1.8 seconds remaining in the game which was only enough time for a desperation heave at the buzzer.
