ANN HARBOR, Michigan- Michigan's DeShawn Sims had 19 points and Manny Harris scored 18 as the Wolverines won, 67-53 over the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Michigan were tied at 32 at halftime as the Golden Lions capitalized off of a high energy first half showing.
Michigan began the second half with an 11-1 run by Manny Harris. In the 6:05 span, Harris hit two three-pointers and converted a three-point play.
“That's a great basketball player,” Arkansas-Pine Bluff head coach George Ivory said of Harris. “In the second half, he was getting shots and he kept knocking them down.”
Savalance Townsend led UAPB in points with 17 points as he was able to put together back-to-back solid performances on the road.
After shooting 54% from the floor in the first half, the Golden Lions missed 11 of their first 13 shots in the second period.
