PINE BLUFF, Ark.- Arkansas-Pine Bluff used a relentless defensive effort and some timely buckets to capture a 47-42 win over Alabama State on Monday night.
Tavaris Washington led UAPB in scoring tallying 16 points on a 5-of-7 shooting night from the floor. Tyree Glass added 11 points and 3 rebounds in 24 minutes of play.
The Golden Lions led 23-14 at halftime as they forced ASU into committing several turnovers which led to scoring opportunities. The victory moves Arkansas-Pine Bluff into sole possession of 2nd place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference at 8-3.
UAPB will now get set to travel to Baton Rouge, La. to face the Southern Jaguars on Saturday, Feb. 13th at 7:30 pm.
