Lilly Beshears Breaks Indoor 2 Mile Record in Chicago

One of Arkansas' best distance runners has done it again.

After enjoying one of the greatest cross country seasons in state history, Lilly Beshears has picked up right where she left off this winter.

At The Circuit Chicago, an inaugural racing series of 'fast-paced' competition, the junior from Rogers shattered the Arkansas Indoor 2 Mile record, crossing the line in 10:29.91 en route to a 6th place finish at the premier event.

Beshears started her indoor season two weeks ago at the Arkansas HS Invitational and finished 3rd in the 1,600m, running 4:59.95, currently an AR #3.

Last month, the junior was tabbed Arkansas Girls Gatorade XC Player of the Year after winning her first 6A State Championship and qualifying for a pair of national meets: Foot Locker and Nike Cross Nationals.
