BATON ROUGE, La.- Allen Smith and Tyree Glass scored 13 points apiece to lead the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions basketball team to a 66-62 win over the Southern Jaguars on Saturday.
Tavaris Washington added eight points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Lions to go along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
With a one-point lead late in the game, a dunk from Washington helped put the Golden Lions' ahead at 64-61 with 53 seconds left to play
Southern's Jameel Grace went to the free-throw line with 29 seconds remaining, but was only able to connect on one of two attempts taking the score to 64-62.
UAPB's Ricky Parks subsequently made one of two free throws followed by Washington who later made one of two foul shots sealing the game in the Golden Lions favor.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will close out its two-game SWAC road swing versus Southern on Monday, Feb. 15th.
