UAPB Wins Fourth Straight Game Defeating ASU 59-45

LORMAN, Miss.- Lebaron Weathers scored 12 points to lead the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden to a 59-45 win over Alcorn State in Southwestern Athletic Conference action on Monday night.
Tavaris Washington chipped in 11 points for UAPB, as the Golden Lions have now won four games in a row.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff led 25-21 at halftime, but put the game out of reach with an 11-3 run to open up the second half play. UAPB took a 36-24 lead after two free throws from guard Allen Smith with 14:11 left to play in the contest.
Alcorn State would get no closer than eight points the remainder of the game. Arkansas-Pine Bluff grabbed their largest advantage of the night after a free throw by Dominic Moore that gave the Golden Lions a twenty point cushion at 58-38 with less than two minutes on the game clock.
UAPB outrebounded the Braves 38-25, and tallied 17 points off of Alcorn State's 13 turnovers.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff returns to the court on Saturday with a critical SWAC West showdown against Prairie View A&M with tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
