Highlights from the Fayetteville Bulldog Relays

Up in Northwest Arkansas last week, some of the best teams in the state converged upon Fayetteville for one of the biggest regular season meets of the season.

For some athletes, this was their first action in three weeks and Friday was their first opportunity to track their progress, so-far, this outdoor season.

Scroll to view some notable performances from around the track at last week's Fayetteville Bulldog Relays.

Chase Keller Enjoys Strong Day in the Field

It was a tight battle in the boys high jump last Friday, but ultimately it was Chase Keller who outlasted the competition, jumping a personal best 6-4 en route to his first victory of the season.

The junior from Rogers also finished 2nd in the long jump, jumping 20-9 and coming up just short of Ft. Smith Southside's Cam Massey.

Makeline Campbell and Sydney Smith Trade Wins

The two short sprint events on Friday came down to the same two girls: Makenlie Campbell and Sydney Smith.

In the 100m dash, Smith came out on top, earning her first win of the season in 12.42 - just 0.02 seconds ahead of Campbell. Later in the day in the 200m dash, Campbell would get her revenge, running a 25.70 en route to a narrow 0.06 second victory over Smith.

After these two instant classics, we can only hope this isn't the last time we see these two duel.

Mountain Home Dominates Pole Vault

As the season continues, Mountain Home is putting together a very well rounded squad that will be looking to defend their state title from the indoor season. Adam Jones and Zach Daugherty will play big roles in making that happen.

The pair of senior pole vaulters finished 1st and 2nd on Friday, each jumping 15-0 or better and moving into the top 5 in the state. Now, the entire top 5 is comprised of 5A vaulters.

Jayden Welch Does It Again!

It's been a breakout season for the senior from Bryant. Jayden Welch continued his winning ways last weekend, extending his undefeated streak for another week in the 110m hurdles and setting an AR #5 in the event.

His teammate Matthew Nelson, who finished 2nd in the 110m hurdles, won the 300m hurdles later in the day, also extending his undefeated streak.

Solara Koser Resets AR #1 in 300mH

Who could've guessed this?

In her final home meet, Solara Koser went out with a bang, winning the 100m and 300m hurdle events, while also capturing gold in the long jump. The senior from Fayetteville continues to impress this season, extending her AR #1 mark in the 300mH further into more-untouchable territory.
