VICKSBURG, Miss.-Arkansas-Pine Bluff Head Track and Field and Cross Country Coach Curtis Pittman has announced the signing of high school cross country stand-out Condrea Collins.
With the signing of Collins Pittman was able to add depth to his already-strong distance crew with the addition of the Vicksburg native. Collins captured all-state in cross country her junior year while attending Warren Central High School.
Collins has received a scholarship to run both cross country and track for the Lady Lions. She joins a cross country team that is the defending Southwestern Athletic Conference champion after the Lady Lions won their second SWAC title in three years in October of 2009.
Collins was able to finish 12th in the Class 5A state meet in 2008 but she missed out on all-state in 2009 after suffering from a groin injury.
The UAPB men's and women's indoor track teams will compete at the SWAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 27th and 28th in Baton Rouge, La.
