Golden Lions Capture Overtime Thriller Over Prairie View 57-55

PINE BLUFF, Ark.- A Lebaron Weathers jumper as time expired in overtime helped lift the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions to a 57-55 victory against Prairie View A&M on Saturday night at home.
Weathers, who contributed 21 points for the Golden Lions (11-14, 11-3 SWAC), was able to give UAPB 55-52 lead on a 3-point shot with 50 seconds remaining. Prairie View A&M's Christopher Jones answered with a three pointer from the corner tying the back and forth affair once again at 55 all.
 After a timeout, Arkansas-Pine Bluff ran down the clock to under five seconds left to play and Weathers was able to beat the buzzer for the go ahead bucket.
Weathers tallied a double-double as he also grabbed 13 rebounds in what was a complete all around effort from the Mississippi native.  
Terrance Calvin and Allen Smith scored nine points apiece, as the Golden Lions improved their SWAC mark to 11-3. Arkansas-Pine Bluff who has now won 11 of its last 14 games highlighted by five in a row will return to the hardwood at home on Monday at 7:30 pm versus Texas Southern.
