PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions basketball team pulled out their second consecutive overtime victory at home as UAPB was able to defeat the Texas Southern Tigers on Monday night 57-53.
Lebaron Weathers once again provided the spark Arkansas-Pine Bluff needed as the 6-10 senior converted two clutch buckets in the overtime period to lift the Golden Lions over the Tigers.
Weathers went 4-of-9 from the field while also tallying seven rebounds to go along with three blocked shots.
George Davis and Terrance Calvin contributed 13 and 10 points respectively as UAPB won its sixth consecutive game improving their conference mark to 12-3 for the season.
The Golden Lions will face Grambling State on Saturday, Feb. 27th with a chance to clinch a number two seed for the 2010 Southwestern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament.
