PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions basketball team won their second straight game on Monday night defeating the Texas Southern 68-60 in front of an energetic crowd of 2,724 fans.
Shay Holmes led the way with another solid double-double performance as she netted 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jasmine Abrams led all scorers with 16 points while fellow teammates Laquisha Slaton and Jenise Gentry contributed 15 and 11 points respectively in what was an all around team effort.
UAPB led 33-26 at halftime as they never looked back from that point. The Lady Lions shot 36% from the floor going 23-of-64 as a team.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will look to avenge a loss they suffered to the Grambling State Lady Tigers earlier in the season as they travel to Louisiana for the two teams' final meeting of the regular season. Tip-off is set for Saturday at 5:30 pm.
