PINE BLUFF, Ark.- A full slate of athletic events highlight this upcoming weekend for the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Department of Athletics.
A total of six UAPB athletic teams will be in action this weekend. Arkansas-Pine Bluff's men's and women's basketball teams will help kick-off the action on Saturday, Feb 27th on the road versus the Grambling State at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
The men's and women's track teams will also be in competition in the state of Louisiana as they travel to Baton Rouge to compete in the 2010 Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship (Feb. 27th- Feb. 28th) at Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
The Golden Lions and Lady Lions Tennis teams' will participate at the 2010 SWAC East-West Tennis Roundup on February 26th-28th in Jackson, Miss.
The round-up will be the first of three roundup tournaments that will determine the six teams that will participate in the 2010 SWAC Tennis Championship, April 16th-18th in Alexandria, La. Only the top three teams in each division will qualify for the tournament.
Tennis action will take place at three venues including the Jackson State Tennis Complex, Tennis Center South and Parham-Bridges Tennis Center. Play will begin each morning at 9 a.m.
The men's and women's basketball teams will close out the full schedule of athletic events on Monday, Mar. 1st in doubleheader action versus Jackson State. The men's and women's basketball games will be broadcast in front of a national television audience on ESPNU. Tip-off has been set for 3:30 pm for the women's game and 6:00 pm for the men's game.
