PINE BLUFF, Ark.- The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Men's Basketball team closed out the regular season portion of their schedule on Thursday night with a big win over rival Mississippi Valley State at home.
Terrance Calvin scored 25 points as the Golden Lions beat Mississippi Valley State 84-68 in front of 4,408 fans at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (14-15, 14-4 SWAC) converted 28-of-39 free-throw attempts while also going 4 for 5 on 3-point shots and 53.1 percent overall from the floor.
Arkansas Pine-Bluff will enter the 2010 Southwestern Conference Basketball Tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Golden Lions will face the No. 7 seed which will be either Mississippi Valley State or Alabama A&M.
UAPB's first round game is set for Wednesday, March 10th at 2:30 pm at Century Tel Arena in Shreveport, La.
