HOUSTON, Texas- The 2010 regular season has officially come to a close for the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions softball team.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff captured a critical three game series over the Texas Southern Lady Tigers on Saturday, April 24th winning two out of three games.
UAPB won game one 12-11 and clinched the series with an 11-9 victory in game three. TSU prevailed 11-10 in extra innings in game two of the series.
“This was a huge series for our softball team,” said UAPB interim head coach Kayla Curbow. “We needed to win this series to solidify a tournament berth and we were able achieve that goal with a lot of hard work and determination. I'm very proud of this team and the heart we displayed in this series and throughout the year.”
The 2010 SWAC Softball Tournament will be played on April 29th- May 2nd in Irondale, AL. UAPB has clinched no less than a number four seed with their victories over Texas Southern this weekend.
