SHREVEPORT, LA—The Lady Lions unleashed their prowess on the Ladies of Centenary College this afternoon. The Lady Lions outscored the Ladies 7-0 today at the Centenary College Soccer Complex.

Junior forward Jade West opened the scoring campaign of the match at the 2nd minute, firing a ball into the Centenary penalty area that deflected off a defender and landed in the back of the net.

At the 6th minute mark, Silvia Fuentes handled the ball at the top of the 18yrd box and passed it to junior midfielder Rachel Harker who rifled a shot to the upper ninety of the goal from 20yrds out.

The Lady Lions scored the next three goals off impressive set pieces. A Jade West corner found junior forward Nicole Parks-Powell who slotted the ball to the near post past Centenary keeper Haleigh Coffey. In the 13th minute Parks-Powell got her second goal of the game off another Jade West corner. West tallied two goals and two assists in today's game giving her a total of four goals in four games. At the 36th minute, a corner taken by Britney Boler was deflected by Fuentes to defender Erika Forbes who scored her first goal of the season with shot off her left foot.

Two more goals were added to the scoreboard in the 2nd half. Freshman Molly Stone scored her first goal of the season by sending a ball from 40yrds out over the head of the Centenary goalkeeper.

In the 72nd minute West scored her second goal by rifling the ball on a first time shot from a Fuentes assist. Fuentes tallied three assists in today's game.

“I thought we came out and played very organized soccer today. We took it to them in the first 15 minutes and the game was out-of-reach by then. I thought individual performances were great all around the park tonight. We are really starting to find our team chemistry and it makes me proud to see my players working hard for each other,” said Mazza.

The Lady Lions will face the Lady Bisons of Harding at home Tuesday night at 4:00pm.
