PINE BLUFF, Ark.- Donald Babers ran for 138 yards and a touchdown, and K.J. Black completed 24 of 32 passes for 199 yards and a score as Prairie View captured a 21-6 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff( 2-3, 1-2 SWAC) on Thursday night.
The Panthers (3-3, 3-2 SWAC) took a 14-6 lead with 2:04 left in the fourth quarter on Black's 8-yard scoring pass to Michael Benson and put the game away when Brenan Gordon returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown with 46 seconds remaining.
Shaun Stephens added 12 catches for 114 yards for Prairie View. Offensively the Golden Lions offense sputtered significantly for the first time all season as PVAMU outgained UAPB 324 to 197 yards.
Joshua Boudreaux connected on 14-22 for 118 yards passes while throwing 2 interceptions. Chris Ewald made 45 and 19-yard field goals for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
UAPB will host Alabama A&M on Saturday, October 16th at Golden Lions Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
