MileSplit Arkansas' Jerry Byrd visited with Lake Hamilton head coach Brandon Starr to talk about the Wolves Track & Field program. The conversation started with seniors on this year's team. The group was honored at Lake Hamilton Sr. Invitational last Friday. One of those seniors is Noah Stack, who is ranked No. 16 in the nation. The LH track and field coaching staff feels like Stack, a University of Washington signee, is just starting to scratch the surface of what he is capable of.
The Wolves have some talent in their underclassmen ranks as well. One of those in sophomore long jumper Jeremiah Johnson, who has jumped 21-9.5 this year and ranked No. 3 among sophomores in the state of Arkansas. Lake Hamilton has sophomore pole vaulter Colton Marrell. Like Johnson, Marrell is ranked No. 3 in the state among the sophomore class.
It's no surprise that on the girls side, the Wolves are led by yet another pole vaulter. Junior Ella Puckett is tied for fourth in the state in the pole vault with a season best of 11-3.
Coach Starr credited his athletes and coaches for the success that Lake Hamilton has enjoyed this year, and is looking forward to the last month of the season to see how many athletes the Wolves can qualify for the state meet.
