Arkansas high school track and field athletes posted several personal bests and school records during the week of April 27.
Bellah Kirby (Rural Special) ran 12.80 in the 100 meters at the 1A Region 2 Conference Meet on April 28, improving from her previous best of 13.98. The mark sets a school record for Rural Special and ranks Kirby #49 in Arkansas and #22 among juniors statewide. Kirby placed second in a field of 17 competitors.
Caden Manuel (Magnolia) jumped 23-2 in the long jump at the 4A Region 7 Sr. Conference on April 29, bettering his previous mark of 20-6.25. The performance broke the school record at Magnolia High School and ranks Manuel #8 in the state and #1 among sophomores. Manuel won the event against 18 competitors and also set a personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 43-0, improving from 42-6.
Kaiden Nelson (LR Christian Academy) ran 2:06.20 in the 800 meters at the 5A Central Conference Track Meet on April 30, dropping from his previous best of 2:15.12 set in April 2025. The time places Nelson #97 in Arkansas and #52 among seniors. Nelson finished seventh in a field of 27 runners.
Aimee Johnson (Norfork) clocked 12.50 in the 100 meters at the 1A Region 2 Conference Meet on April 28, improving from 13.43. The time established a school record at Norfork High School and ranks Johnson #17 in the state and #6 among juniors. Johnson won the race against 16 other competitors.
Aubrey Lane (Brookland) ran 13.22 in the 100 meters at the 4A Region 3 Sr Conference Track Meet on April 29, improving significantly from her previous best of 17.35 set in March 2025. The freshman ranks #136 in Arkansas and #16 among first-year athletes statewide. Lane won the event in a field of 23 runners and also set personal bests in the 200 meters (28.13, down from 28.20) and pole vault (8-6, up from 8-0).
Marcus Haynes (North Little Rock) threw 138-4 in the discus at the 6A Central Conference Meet on April 27, improving from 112-1. The senior ranks #38 in the state and #24 among seniors and placed third among 19 competitors. Haynes also set a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 42-10, up from 38-10.
Jamarcus Sandidge (Morrilton) ran 23.24 in the 200 meters at the 4A-4 Conference Track Meet on April 27, improving from 26.57. The senior ranks #102 in Arkansas and #51 among seniors statewide and finished third in a field of 22 runners.
