There are cross country teams all over the state Arkansas that are excited to get the 2026 season under way. After finishing as the 3A runner-up in 2025, the Genoa Central Dragons fall into that category. MileSplit Arkansas' Jerry Byrd visited with head coach Brian Gregory to discuss last year's state runner-up finish, summer training, and the 2026 season.
Sophomore Presley Rogers will lead the team once again after finishing sixth at state as a freshman. She has a 5K personal record of 20:42 from last year's El Dorado Invitational. She carried that over to outdoor where she was the District 7-3A champion in the 800, 1600, and 3200.
Other Dragons to watch include Baylee Nowlin, Brynlee Walker, and Lily Douglas
Dominic Dickinson, a sophomore, and senior Ethan Hickson will lead the boys squad.
