FAYETTEVILLE,
Ark. (10/15/2011) — The Arkansas State women's cross country team finished 19th
and the men placed 23rd Saturday at the 23rd Annual Chile
Pepper Festival Saturday in Fayetteville.
Running
first on the 6,000-meter course for the women was senior Chelsea Weaver, who
finished 55th out of 296 competitors with a time of 21:58.4.
Freshman Rexi Parcells finished 100th with a time of 23:34.2 and
junior Sam Salinas finished 102nd with a time of 22:37.5.
Running
first for the men on the 10,000-meter course was junior David Mills, who
finished 120th out of 288 competitors, with a time of 32:09.6. Also
running well for the men was freshman Luke Lindsley, who placed 175th
with a time of 33:34.0.
The ASU men
and women will return to action Oct. 29 at Bowling Green, Ken. where they will
compete at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
