Rapp Record Highlights Harding Performances at Arkansas State

The Bisons had five top-10 individual finishes.

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Harding men's indoor track team had five top-10 individual finishes, and freshman Eric Rapp set a new school record in the weight throw as the Bisons competed in the ASTATE Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Convocation Center.

Harding's top finish came from sophomore Taylor Lively, who placed fourth of 20 runners in the 800 meters. Competing in his first collegiate indoor race, Lively finished in 1 minute, 58.28 seconds. He was just ahead of teammate Justin Durham, who was fifth with a personal-best time of 1:59.90.

Senior sprinter Milton Stewart placed sixth of 37 competitors in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.45, just two-tenths of a second off his own school record.

Two Bisons also placed in the top 10 in the 400 meters. Sophomore Landon Belcher and junior Kory Howard both set personal bests in the event. Belcher was ninth in 50.86 seconds, and Howard was 10th in 50.87.

Rapp, who became the first Harding athlete ever to compete in the indoor weight throw earlier this season, broke his own school record with a throw of 31 feet, 6.50 inches.

Harding's 4x400-meter relay team of Belcher, Howard, Stewart and Durham turned in a solid performance to close the meet. The Bisons placed fourth of eight teams in 3:22.30.
