Ebenja, Zaborowska Invited to NCAA II Indoor Championship Meet

Both runners earned All-South Central Region honors.

SEARCY – Two members of the Harding women's indoor track and field team received invitations Tuesday to participate in the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.

Senior Cathy Ebenja will compete in the 60-meter dash, and freshman Ewa Zaborowska will compete in the 800 meters. Both runners were awarded All-South Central Region honors.

Ebenja, a native of Little Rock, Ark., qualified with the 11th-fastest Division II time and the second-fastest in the region, 7.61 seconds, recorded at Grand Valley State on Feb. 10. It will be Ebenja's second indoor national meet. Last season she placed fourth in the preliminaries and did not advance to the final.

Zaborowska, who hails from Wejherowo, Poland, ran 2:11.08 at Grand Valley State to record the fifth-fastest 800-meter time in Division II this season and the second-fastest in the region.

The championships will be held March 9-10 in Mankato, Minn., at Myers Field.

The entire meet will be streamed live on NCAA.com both days of the championships.
