MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Harding women's track opened the outdoor season Saturday at the Rhodes Open. The Lady Bisons had two event victories, including an NCAA provisional time from freshman
Ewa Zaborowska in the 800 meters.
Zaborowska defeated 55 other runners in the 800 meters, running an NCAA provisional time of 2:10.78, just over a second off Harding's school record. It was the fastest outdoor 800-meter time in Division II this season.
Junior
Tiffany Chambers won the pole vault with a vault of 11-05.75. It was her sixth career outdoor event victory in the pole vault and her second at Rhodes.
In the sprints, Harding senior
Cathy Ebenja placed second of 36 runners in the 100-meter dash in 12.14 seconds.
Harding's top field event performance came from freshman Briana Davis, who placed eighth among 27 competitors in the discus with a throw of 110 feet, 2 inches.
The Lady Bisons will be back at Rhodes next Saturday for the Rhodes Invitational.
