Huntsville Invitational Cross Country Meet

COURSE LOCATION HAS CHANGED SEE BELOW!!!

No spectators allowed on site this year. Only Athletes and Coaches will be allowed. Due to Covid we are scaling back how many people we will allow in one area. Please inform your parents that they will not be allowed to enter the venue. We hope that we can get back to normal next year!

Runners must wear face coverings except for when warming up and competing. Coaches must wear face coverings unless socially distanced.

Starting boxes will be assigned and spaced out 12 ft apart. Athletes will be called to the starting line to avoid over crowding the starting area. 

Runners will be asked to put their face covering back on after finishing the race. Water bottles will be available at the finishing chute. 

Trainer will be available

Team tent areas will be marked with a white x and spaced out for social distancing. Please have athletes stay in those areas unless warming up or competing. 

Schedule:
3:30 p.m. - Junior Girls (2 mile)
4:00 p.m. - Junior Boys (2 mile)
4:30 p.m. - Senior Girls (5K)
5:00 p.m. - Senior Boys (5K)


We will use a rolling start if we get behind.


Timing:We are chip timing this year with Mr. Jim Yurwitz of Y-Timing.

REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 5pm ON MONDAY OCTOBER 19th

There will be no award ceremony. Results will be announced and awards can be picked up by a coach at the registration tent.

Awards: Medals will be given to the top 10 individuals in each of the following divisions:

5A and up = Large schools

4A and down = Small schools

If there is enough schools in each classification we will have three divisions.



Entry Fees: $40 per gender team of 5-20 members

$60 per gender team with more than 20 members

$10 per person for incomplete teams

Misc. Info: Water will be provided for all runners and we will have concessions available. Tyson will be cooking and selling Chicken Sandwiches, chips, and a drink available for $5. Coaches get a pass to eat for free.

COURSE LOCATION CHANGED! We have moved our course down in town near the main gym and football field. The course is next to the intersection of Cain Ave and Polk Street right next to Deer Run Apartments. We will have police officers who can direct coaches where to park bus and set up tents and register. Restrooms will be located at the main gym about one block from the course and their will also be porta potties on site. 


Parking: There will be parking available at the course for buses.  Coaches or bus drivers will be able to drop runners off at the course and then will be directed down to the main gym/football field parking lot to park the bus.
