Girls 400m
Breakdown: Samantha Gonzalez dropped a US #3 55.53 in the 400m prelims, and had a highly anticipated return for the finals. Coming off the bank at 160m, she pulled up short looking to be in a lot of pain. Hopefully it's not a serious injury and she can hit the track again shortly, but taking advantage of the top seeded dropping out was Paris Perkins. The Arkansas native took control of the race and powered away to the win and the only athlete to break 57s in the final. Perkins now sits at US #9.

Girls 60mH
Breakdown: Tonea Marshall is dominating the early season short distance hurdles. Marshall entered the meet as your US #1, and she wasted no time and showing why she holds that position as she lowered her top national time to 8.50 in the prelims. She came back in the finals and tied that same mark to win easily, and impressively returned to the track just a few minutes later to take 2nd in the 60m dash finals.
