Fayetteville Jumper Cooper Williams Nets New Personal Record

Over the weekend, Fayetteville senior Cooper Williams had a productive day at the Arkansas Indoor HS Championships. He competed in the long jump where he placed fourth and then was the runner-up in the triple jump.

However, it was in the University of Arkansas commit's premiere event, the high jump where he left his mark. Williams had enough bounce remaining in his legs after the previous events to net a personal best 7-0 leap.

Williams didn't come into the competition until the bar was raised to 6-4, which he cleared on his first attempt. That was the bar that eliminated the rest of the field leaving him to chase higher bars on his own.

When the 6-7 bar came, he conquered with one swoop, which led him to pass the other heights to raise the bar all of the way to seven feet.

Williams put it altogether on his third and final attempt and had the crowd at Randall Tyson stadium on their feet!
