Devyn Steingisser used his 6A state meet runner-up finishes in both the shot put and the discus events to earn the Gatorade Arkansas boys track and field Player of the Year.
The Bryant senior threw 159-6 in the discus and 55-11 in the shot put; he also placed in the SP at the Arkansas Meet Of Champions.
To show he is a complete thrower, Steingisser threw a personal best 207-7 in the hammer throw to place sixth at the Nike Outdoor Nationals.
Steingiser graduated with a 3.58 grade point average in the classroom and signed to attend the University of Central Arkansas. Additionally, he volunteers as a coach for a local track club.
