Debut's don't get much better than this.
In his first high school race last Saturday, Carson Walker raced to a 3rd place finish at the Vilonia Invitational, crossing the line in 16:55.77 - a new freshman school record.
According to the Milesplit database, the Russellville freshman owns the 2-mile school record, which he set last season. With just one race under his belt, Walker owns the fourth fastest time run by a freshman this season.
Russellville picked up the win in the boys team race, scoring 36 points and putting three in the top 5. The addition of Walker makes this Cyclones team even more dangerous and a legitimate threat to the podium at the 5A state meet.
Congratulations to the boys from Russellville!
