The University of Mississippi has bolstered their incoming freshman class for cross country and track with the addition of Owen Kelley, the distance standout from Bentonville High School in Northwest Arkansas.
Owen Kelley has been fantastic in his senior cross country season, picking up three race wins across five races and includes a pair of sub 15 minute times at the Southlake XC Invite in Texas and Olathe Twilight in Kansas. Not only does Kelley own the fastest time run in Arkansas this fall, but he currently ranks 61st in the entire country with a 14:50.00.
On the track, Kelley has competed against some incredible competition while running personal best times of 4:19 in the 1,600m and 9:18 in the 3,200m. With one more high school track season to go, you can expect fireworks now that Kelley's college decision has been made, which should also benefit the remainder of his cross country season as he no longer has that big decision sitting on his shoulders.
Best of luck to Owen Kelley on the remainder of his high school career and in Mississippi!
