Hall of Fame Friday - Ross Bolding

Beginning January 24th, Milesplit Arkansas will feature one inductee in the Arkansas Track and Field Hall of Fame every week leading up to the 2025 ceremony.

[From the Arkansas Track and Field Hall of Fame]: "The Arkansas Track and Field Hall of Fame, which began honoring athletes in 1995, is dedicated to recognizing Arkansans whose performances and contributions have distinguished them in the world of track and field. Its stated mission is to 'honor and recognize persons who have made significant contributions to the sports of track and field and cross country in the state of Arkansas; and recognize and encourage Arkansas high school track athletes who have excelled in performance and /or academics."

Today's Hall of Fame Friday features Road Runners Club of American (RCCA) Road Runner of the Year Award recipient Ross Bolding.

  • Placed 1st in age group 287 of 301 road races since turning age 40
  • Won over 75 age group State Championships in distances from 100m to half-marathon
  • Won 21 Age Group National Championships in 14 events from 4 x 100 through 25,000m
  • Set National Age Group records in the 4 x 100 shuttle hurdle relay, 2000m steeplechase,
  • 15000m, 10 miles, 20,000m, and 25,000m.
  • Won Bronze Medal in the 2,000m steeplechase at World Masters Athletics Championships
  • setting U.S. Age Group record.
  • RRCA National Masters Runner of the Year for 2012 at age 66, after entering nine National Championship races and winning all nine.
  • Won Glen Cunningham Award as Outstanding Senior Track Performer multiple times.
  • Ran 5:11 mile, 10:51 two miles, and 17:46 5K at age 62.
  • Set Arkansas Senior State record of 2:25 in the 800m at age 62.
  • Set Arkansas Super Senior State record of 41:51 in 10K at age 72.​
