Erin Woodward wins the 2017 3,200m State Championship
Just 9 days remain until the 2025 Arkansas Indoor State Championships and over the next week, Milesplit Arkansas is going to take a look back at some of the best moments from the meet's long history.
In 2016, Erin Woodward from Little Rock Christian collected her 3rd state championship, winning the 3,200m by just 0.22 seconds. Against a field of some of Arkansas' best distance runners, the senior waited patiently and made her move on the final straight away of the race.
Later that year, Woodward capped off her high school career by winning 14 of her 15 races, including a pair of 5A state titles in the 1,600m and 3,200m.
After high school, Woodward continued to shine at the University of Central Arkansas, spending five years with the Bears' distance squad. In 2019, she earned 2nd-Team All-Southland Conference honors in cross country.
As she wrapped up her collegiate career, Woodward once again went out on top, capturing victory in her final home race at the Richard Martin Jr. Invitational in the 1,500 meters-a fitting end to a standout career.
The 2025 Arkansas HS Indoor Championships are set to take place on February 22nd and will be available to be streamed on Milesplit Arkansas.
