Kayden Brown, Lucas Roblee Duel in Wild 200m Finish

While there was plenty of action across the track at Saturday's state meet, no race got the crowd in Fayetteville more excited than the final heat of the boys 200m.

Entering the weekend, the showdown between Kayden Brown and Lucas Roblee in the sprint events was one of the most highly anticipated of the season - and they certainly delivered.

The two first went head-to-head in the 60m dash. Brown exploded out of the blocks and while Roblee made an incredibly strong late surge, it wasn't enough as the Bentonville junior held on to win the 6A 60m dash title in 6.87 to Roblee's 6.88.

And just when it seemed they couldn't have finished any closer, the two put on another show in the 200m.

Off the second turn of the final heat, it appeared as if Roblee had the edge over Brown this time. Down the final straight, Brown closed in on Roblee and as the two leaned across the line, it wasn't clear who crossed first.

After a few moments of uncertainty, it was the senior from Fayetteville whose name appeared first on the live leaderboard. However, within seconds, the results board suddenly refreshed and showed Brown's name finishing ahead of Roblee by 0.004 seconds, claiming his second title of the day.

In his first season in 6A, Brown proved he belonged among the state's best, capturing two thrilling sprint titles to add to his already impressive championship resume.
