Kercher Herring picked up wins in the high jump and pole vault, setting three personal bests across four events on Monday. The senior from Russellville is a multi-time state champion and a force to be reckoned with in Arkansas, further cementing his reputation as one of the state's top athletes with his impressive performances on Monday.
Just 9 days since winning the shotput at the indoor state meet, Will Neumann secured another win in the event, throwing an early-season AR #1. The junior from Bentonville also won the discus, throwing 151-6, an AR #2, and established himself as one of the state's preseason top throwers.
Jane Musengwa, fresh off her state championship in the shotput last week, continued her dominance with a pair of wins in the shotput and discus, setting two new AR #1 marks in the process. The senior from Bentonville continues her winning ways and is one of a few athletes in the state who could finish the outdoor season undefeated.
Bentonville showcased their strength across the board, picking up wins elsewhere with Kayden Brown (Long Jump), Liam Bradney (Triple Jump), Brynn Hellwig (High Jump), Morgan Langley (Long Jump), Brianna Fogarty (Triple Jump), winning their respective events.
Russellville's Breanne Nicholson earned the only other win in the pole vault, jumping an AR #1 en route to her second straight season-opening victory.
