Jalen Staggers (Nashville) threw 161-8 in the discus at the 4A State Championship on May 5, improving from his previous best of 143-5. The junior's mark set a Nashville High School record and ranks #9 in Arkansas and #2 among juniors. Staggers won the event among 16 competitors.
Graisyn Prehn (Magnet Cove) ran 5:47.09 in the 1600 meters at the 2A State Championship on May 6, dropping from her previous PR of 6:08.79 set in April. The junior placed third of 13 competitors and ranks #93 in Arkansas and #21 among juniors.
