THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2019 SPS 9th Grade & JV Relays
This meet is for 9th grade 6A West Feeder School Teams & 6A West High School Junior Varsity Teams to compete in. However, we will allow a few non-6A schools into the meet. Entry fee is $50 per gender team for those schools. Email abumsted@sdale.org if you would like to come to the meet. Sorry but this meet is an invitational. No 7th or 8th Graders will be allowed to compete at this meet!!
Meet Info
Springdale Public Schools is excited to host the first ever track meets at Springdale High School this season. Construction was just completed on a one of kind "broken" curve track. This meet will have two separate divisions, 9th grade & JV. Only 9th Graders allowed in the 9th grade division.

Field Events will start at 3:30 pm and Running Events will start at 4:15 pm.
Divisions
To ensure that all 9th graders do not lose eligibility as junior high athletes, the 9th grade and JV divisions will ALWAYS complete separately. This is true in both running and field events. In the running events, it will be 9th Girls then JV Girls then 9th Boys and the JV Boys. Again 9th graders will ONLY compete against 9th graders and JV teams ONLY JV teams. They will never be in the same races or in the same field events at the same time.
Throwing Situation
Due to some construction issues our shotput and discus rings WILL NOT be ready in time for the meet. However, we will STILL BE able to hold throwing events. Thankfully the old SPS track at Southwest Junior High has two shot put and two discus rings available for us to use. SW is 1.5 miles from Springdale High. All throwing athletes will need to be dropped off at SW rather than SHS. There will be a shuttle bus that will bring athletes back to SHS starting at 3:45 pm. All athletes that will need to get back to the track for running events and field events will be allowed to throw first while at SW. Since we will have four rings going, all throws should be finished by 5 pm.

Registration
Registration will open on ar.milesplit.com until Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11 am.
3 Entries Per Event & 1 Relay Team for 9th grade division. (FRESHMAN ONLY!!)
2 Entries Per Event & 2 Relay Teams for JV division.
Divisions will ALWAYS compete separately.

Bathrooms & Concession Stands
Team Camps & Bus Parking
NO TEAM CAMPS in the bleachers!! All team camps will be located in the parking lot next to the main entrance of the competitive gym off of Pleasant St. Buses will drop off all athletes on Pleasant St. on the North end of the track. Buses will be parked using the parking lot just South of the track next to the Springdale Aquatic Center.
Warm-Up Areas
Due to the conditions of our infield. NO ONE will be allowed to warm-up on the inside of the track. There will be a street blocked off by the Springdale Police Department that will be an ideal place for the athletes to warm-up.
Coaches MeetingCoaches Meeting at 3 pm in the hospitality room inside SHS.
Field Events Beginning at 3:30 pm
There will be no finals for any field event. Each participant will get 4 jumps or throws in SP, Disc, LJ & TJ. Three attempts per height in HJ & PV.
Pole Vault: 9th Girls & then JV Girls followed by 9th Boys & then JV Boys (Min: Girls 6' 0" / Boys 7' 0")
High Jump: 9th Boys & then JV Boys followed by 9th Girls & then JV Girls (Min: Girls 4' 0" / Boys 5' 0")
Long Jump: 9th Girls & then JV Girls followed by 9th Boys & then JV Boys (Min: Girls 10' 0" / Boys 14' 0")
Triple Jump: 9th Boys & then JV Boys followed by 9th Girls & then JV Girls (Min: Girls 20' 0" / Boys 25' 0")
Shot Put #1: 9th Girls then JV Girls (Min: Girls 20' 0")
Shot Put #2: JV Boys then 9th Boys (Min: Boys 25' 0")
Discus #1: JV Girls then 9th Girls (Min: Girls 40' 0")
Discus #2: 9th Boys then JV Boys (Min: Boys 60' 0")

Awards
Team trophies will be given out to the first and second place in each division. High point athlete awards will also be given out in all four divisions as well. 1st place medals and 2nd - 8th place ribbons will be given out in event of all divisions.
