Charles Tadlock served the Sheridan School District for numerous years. He was an Assistant Principal and Principal of Sheridan Junior High/Middle School. He served on the school board after his retirement. He volunteered his services over many years to our track meets as a referee.
He graduated from Warren High School in 1957, and Hendrix College in 1961 where he played football. At Hendrix, he was selected as a team Captain, earned All-Conference honors, and was named to the Little All-American Team. Charles was inducted into the Hendrix Sports Hall of Honor and the Arkansas Track Hall of Fame(2005). He served on the AR Track Hall of Fame Board, Hendrix Alumni Board of Governors, and the board of the Warrior Booster Club. He earned his Master's Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1968. He began his professional career as a teacher, and head football and track coach at Charleston, where he coached multiple state championship cross country teams, won district coach of the year honors 7 times, and was selected to coach in the state All-Star Football Game. He also was the meet referee for approximately 100 state championship cross country and track & field meets.
He was an active member and leader at the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan. His community service included being a member of the Grant County Election Commission, serving on the Legislative Committee of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, serving as President of the Grant County Retired Teachers Association, and being a member of the Democratic Party State Committee.
Mr. Tadlock was born on August 2, 1939, and entered into rest on August 14, 2023.
This is a State Qualifying Meet. 12 teams maximum.
Event Limits: This year we are going to allow 2 athletes in all events and 1 relay team.
We will have minimums in all field events. These will be shared at the coach's meeting.
3 throws/jumps in the shot, discus, long jump, and triple jump (NO FINALS).
Buses need to be parked before 2:45 due to school traffic.
Park buses on the visitor's side of the stadium (East Side). Set up team camps in visitor's stands.
****No Hammocks allowed inside the stadium****
Meet Fees: $100 per gender or $200 per school, mail checks to Sheridan Schools 400 N. Rock Street Sheridan, AR 72150 Attention: Athletic Director
Coaches meeting at 3:00 at the benches.
Field Events begin at 3:30, the 3200 relay begins at 4:15, and running events at 5:00.
