Lilly Beshear impresses in Rogers debut

This offseason, Milesplit received intel that Lilly Beshears would not be racing for Har-Ber High School this fall and the information turned out to be true as the superstar sophomore raced to a second-place finish at the Greg Wilson Classic as a member of Rogers High School.

In the spring, Beshears finished second at the 6A State Championship in the 1,600m as a freshman and picked up right where she left off, running an early-season Arkansas #1 time of 18:42.40.

Beshears was surrounded by two of her new teammates Kayla Eggers and Katherine Scudder, both freshmen, who finished 5th and 6th respectively, putting on an impressive display with five scoring underclassmen, consisting of four freshmen, and putting the rest of Division 6A on notice that Rogers is a legitimate championship contender for the foreseeable future.

While Beshear's decision to run for Rogers will be a hot topic this fall, the sophomore's stunning debut should not go unnoticed as the underclassman superstar has asserted herself as a preseason favorite to win the 6A individual title.
