Haley Loewe has been flat-out dominant this season, finishing runner-up at the ultra-competitive Milesplit TX Invitational and Lovejoy XC Fall Festival meets in Texas. Lilly Beshears, however, sits in the wings, and based on her freshman season, she should be a legitimate threat to Loewe's aspirations to repeat as the Arkansas 6A girls state champion. The two are scheduled to go head-to-head at the Chile Pepper Festival on September 30th in Fayetteville.

Zoe Williamson has enjoyed a tremendous start to her senior season, picking up wins at the Little Rock XC Classic and Bison XC Invitational with the second-fastest time in the state, having run an 18:28.79 last weekend.

Like Williamson, Gabbie Bishop and the O'Daniel sisters from Bentonville have looked sharp to start this season. Bishop picked up a win in her lone outing, running an 18:51.25, which is an Arkansas #5. In their two Texas road trips, Devyn and Everly O'Daniel have been spectacular, finishing as the Bentonville #2 and #3 at each race, anchoring this lethal lineup to a pair of impressive finishes.

Kayla Eggers, Katherine Scudder, and Anna Scudder, three freshmen from Rogers, have adjusted to the high school 5K terrifically, all running personal best times of 19:17 or faster this season. The freshmen trio will be the key to Rogers' pursuit of their 18th state championship and first since 2011.

Lauren Thompson has been sneaky good in the first three races of the young season, which includes a win at the CBC Warrior Invitational back in August. The freshman from Jonesboro appears eager to make a name for herself and is starting her high school career on a fast note.
